Trim Removal Tip
Trunk Sides - Remove the screws from inside the trunk and rotate the trim outward. Trunk Rear - Remove the end screws and then carefully snap out the trim. Saddlebag sides - Remove the screws from inside the doors and remove the trim. Saddlebag corners - See below All the pieces are very easy to remove with the exception of the saddle bag corners. They aren’t hard but it helps to know how to get them off to prevent damage. The side of the rear corner piece near the door is secured with double sided tape. It sticks really well. There are two inside screws on each piece. Remove the two screws inside the rear of the saddlebag. Restart the innermost screw just enough so it stays in the trim. Using a long bladed Phillips screwdriver gently tap on the screwdriver with the tip in the screw and the trim will pop out of the saddlebag hole. Have someone put there hand over the trim as you do this so if it comes free they can catch it. If needed repeat this process on the outermost screw. I then use a ball headed Allen wrench just smaller than the screw hole inserted in the hole to gently push/wiggle outward. Push outward until the standoffs are free and the piece starts to come loose. Slowly rotate the corner piece outward with the double sided tape on the side acting as the hinge point. Do this slowly and the tape will let go. If the rear portion (where the screws were) is tight and won't push outward you can spray some WD40 or similar lubricant on the inside rear screw holes (from the inside) to help get the plastic to release. You can warm the tape area to help the tape let go with a hair dryer on the low setting so you don't harm the paint. I hope this helps as I have had guys damage these pieces prying with a screwdriver near where the tape is or on other places on the trim. Don’t pry anywhere on any piece of trim with a tool! To remove the lower saddlebag trim pieces there are screws attaching them to the saddlebags from underneath. No need to remove the doors. You just have to lay on ground to see then unless you have a lift. After removal you need to wrap each trim piece individually in the box you use for shipment so there is no chance for the pieces to rub together on each other or on the box during shipment. I recommend putting $500 insurance on the package in case of loss or damage as that's approximately how much the trim would cost to replace from Honda.
